This will be a great week for those who want to treat themselves to a classy meal for a reasonable price. The Grand Tables Association hosts their bi-annual restaurant week together with the U.S. Meat Export Federation, which runs through Saturday.

It provides picky food-lovers with a choice of diverse cuisines made from high-quality U.S beef_ ranging from Western-style dishes to Chinese food.

For this event, 13 high-class restaurants around Seoul's chic area, Cheongdam in southern Seoul, as well as three hot spots in Gwanghwamun and Junggu in central Seoul and Bundang in Gyeonggi Province, offer courses consisting of appetizers, a main dish and dessert at 20,000 won for lunch and 30,000 won for dinner. There is an additional 10 percent VAT charge.

For example, Once in a Blue Moon in Cheongdam provides a dinner course of mixed green salad with mozzarella, a soup, beef tenderloin with grilled vegetables and red wine sauce and a dessert of tiramisu cake and coffee or tea.

The highly popular restaurant week first started last August and drew much enthusiasm, with reservations jam-packed each time. It was launched to make the classy and posh restaurants in Cheongdam, with equally posh prices, more approachable.

Participating restaurants are Once in a Blue Moon, Yongsusan, Grill H, Nanxiang, Mi Piace, Xian, Tani, Casa del Vino, Park, AOC, Pazin, Yum China and Seasons in southern Seoul; Adena Garden in Bundang; Nanxiang in Gwanghwamun; and Tani Next Door in Junggu.
