Singapore streets will be adorned with colorful lanterns from September through November for three ethnic festivals _ traditional Chinese festival ``Mid-Autumn Festival'' from Sept. 8 to 30; the largest Islamic festival ``Hari Raya Aidilfitri'' from Sept. 8 through Oct. 21; and Hindu festival ``Deepavali'' from Oct. 12 to Nov. 18.
During the festival periods, visitors can have a unique experience and understanding of local cultures and traditions through free walking tours in ethnic communities in Chinatown, Kampong Glam, and Little India.
The festival's main venues will be decked with lanterns and other light-up ceremonies and displays, along with street bazaars and carnivals.
``The celebrations of Mid-Autumn Festival, Hari Raya Aidilfitry and Deepavali are a perfect showcase of Singapore's multi-cultural heritage,'' said Margaret Teo, assistant chief executive at Singapore Tourism Board.
