Jeju Hotels Attract Vacationers

If you dream of spending your summer vacation in an exotic resort, Jeju Island would be one of the perfect places. Less than an hour away by plane, it is a paradise away from the smoggy congestion of the city.

Hotels on the island are now gearing up to shoulder the busy tourist season. Highlights go beyond traditional hotel opulence by including exclusive entertainment programs to ensure guest satisfaction.

The followings are three summer programs to benefit those who intend to get away to the island this summer.

Shilla Jeju

The Shilla Jeju presents diverse programs for the families.

The hotel arranges short trips for guests including ``constellation tour,'' ``Seogundo ocean tour'' and ``eco-botanical region tour''.

Guests can also enjoy performances beginning with ``Musical Paradiso,'' by musical star Choi Jung-won and famous crossover tenor Im Tae-kyung, on Aug 4, followed with a performance by singer Wax on Aug. 11.

Tickets for each performance are priced at 10,000 won for hotel guests and 30,000 won for those purchasing at the door.

The hotel is also holding a summer festival with various programs such as a swimming class, diet yoga class and pine mushroom mud event, each of which costs 10,000 won.

The hotel's summer package includes programs and benefits introduced above available through Sept. 1. The price for the starts from 250,000 won.

Hyatt Regency Jeju

Hyatt Regency Jeju has a variety of activities for family guests, with the focus being on child activities.

``Children in the Summer Getaway'' package is available through Aug. 26 and includes outdoor activities such as giant jig saw puzzle making, mural painting, remote car racing, and cookie making.

Titled ``Kids' Village,'' the activities are offered from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. The fee is 30,000 won for a full day and 20,000 won for half day. All kids get lunch and a t-shirt.

Other activities include Indian magician Babu Kutty's Magic Academy, poolside BBQ with live music and sunset meditation, dumbbell weight training with trainer Bobby.

The 2007 Summer Getaway starts from 186,000 won for one night stay. Free use of the indoor and outdoor pools, use of fitness center and 30 percent off sauna is included.

Lotte Hotel Jeju

Lotte Hotel Jeju offers programs target those in their late 30s and 40s.

Under the title of ``Summer Festival,'' the program includes concerts by Park Hak-gi, Jang Pil-sun and Park Jung-woon.

Tickets to the performance are priced at 15,000 won for hotel guests and 25,000 won for outside guests.

On Aug. 8, famous young magician Lu holds a magic show, which will be offered free of charge to hotel guests.

Around the performing hall at the hotel is an old class, recreated as it was to bring back the old memories to guests with old desk and chairs, lunch boxes and movie posters of classic films.

The hotel's summer package includes a room with free use of outdoor swimming pool and shuttle bus between the hotel and nearby beach.
