Manhattan Grill Venue for Beef Lovers

Listen

The Manhattan Grill, a restaurant at Renaissance Seoul Hotel in Yoksam-dong, has quickly and successfully positioned itself as a food-lovers’ favorite.

The American-style steakhouse on the lobby floor is designed with rich cognac-colored wood and leather. It has tables for 76, including four private dinning rooms.

The hotel’s executive chef believes that the restaurant represents the hotel itself.

``The Manhattan Grill is an important part of our plans. Although it’s relatively new to the market, it has quickly established itself as a great product,’’ said Joerg Hontheim. ``We are looking to use the Manhattan Grill as a business card for the hotel.’’

``The Manhattan Grill is the place for a memorable experience. This is where clients are impressed when power lunches and dinners are held, and lucrative deals are sealed,’’ he said.

The open kitchen takes center stage at Manhattan Grill, spreading a delicious aroma of char grilling throughout the restaurant. The wooden walls have aquariums inserted into them and also display wine on each corner. The restaurant also has a bar at the entrance for aperitifs, cocktails and nightcaps.

Towering plates of prime steak and seafood, served with onion rings and garlic mushrooms on mahogany platters with long horn handles are transported from the kitchen hour after hour.

The restaurant’s signature dishes include prime Australian tenderloin, Australian beef strip loin, Australian prime fillet mignon, and Australian prime rib eye cutlet. The New Zealand rack of lamb and veal tenderloin is also popular.

Traditional Caesar salad and steamed asparagus with herb hollandaise sauce accompany the main courses.

The wine list is impressive and extensive with high-end American reds and whites, as well as a great selection of New-Zealand wine, champagne and sparkling wine, all beautifully presented and artfully incorporated into the design with ``wine walls,’’ an intimate wine room as well as a tasting table at the restaurant’s entrance.

The Manhattan Grill is open for lunch from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. For more information, call (02) 2222-8637/8
