The former School of Chemical Engineering will now recruit students under the newly restructured School of Chemical, Biological and Energy Engineering. In addition, the Department of New Industry Convergence and the Department of K-Beauty Industry Convergence have been merged into the School of Industrial and Management Convergence Engineering, which will recruit only outside the regular quota. The School of Social Sciences Integrated Major has increased its total enrollment from 74 to 76 students, with two students to be selected through Group B regular admissions.
Konkuk University will continue to apply track-based College Scholastic Ability Test weighting systems. The Language-Focused Track will assess Korean 40 percent, Math 30 percent, Inquiry 20 percent and English 10 percent, applying primarily to liberal arts, selected teacher education programs and certain arts majors. The Math-Focused Track will assess Korean 30 percent, Math 40 percent, Inquiry 20 percent and English 10 percent, covering natural sciences, engineering, business, social sciences and related disciplines.
For arts and physical education majors, scores will be calculated using Korean 45 percent, English 25 percent and the higher score between Math or Inquiry at 30 percent. The Konkuk University Open Major Program will apply both Type A and Type B calculations and adopt the higher score.
All admissions tracks will also apply school violence disciplinary records as deductions from a total score of 1,000 points, with penalties ranging from zero to a maximum of 500 points, depending on the severity of the disciplinary action.
The regular application period will run from Dec. 29-31, with initial admissions results announced Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. Registration will take place from Feb. 3-5, followed by rolling additional admissions announcements through Feb. 12.
Practical skills examinations for arts and physical education programs will be conducted from Jan. 12-21, depending on the department.
