The Church Growth International (CGI) Conference, co-hosted by Yoido Full Gospel Church and CGI, concluded a three-day event from Sept. 9 to 11 in Indonesia, serving as a pivotal opportunity to expand partnerships and foster a spirit of revival across Asia.

Yoido Full Gospel Church said Sunday that the conference, focused on the theme of “Power of the Holy Spirit,” drew an estimated 20,000 attendees, including pastors and believers from 22 countries.

Held at GBI Mawar Saron Church in Jakarta, Indonesia, this year’s conference served as a pivotal moment for expanding revival partnerships across Indonesia and the Asian region.

The opening day featured a conference attended by more than 3,500 people. Rev. Lee Young-hoon, senior pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church and chairman of CGI, delivered a lecture on power of prayer, highlighting the tradition of early morning prayer in the Korean church.

“Prayer is spiritual breathing, the word is spiritual food, and churches’ growth is entirely in God’s hands,” the chairman said during his lecture.

The evening session featured a revival meeting led by Rev. Kong Hee of Singapore’s City Harvest Church.

On the second day, 19 pastors affiliated with CGI shared their ministry experiences through seminars and workshops, and Rev. Lee delivered a lecture on “The World of the Spiritual Dimension.”

“The three-dimensional material world is governed by the spiritual fourth dimension,” Lee said, urging the attendees to “govern the spiritual world with the Word, vision, dreams, faith and confession.”

The final day featured a meeting of the Asia Christian Leaders Summit, a group founded in 2013 by Rev. Lee and other Asian church leaders with the vision of “Asian missions by Asian hands.” This group includes key pastors from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Established in 1976, CGI is an international organization founded by the Rev. Cho Yong-gi, founder of Yoido Full Gospel Church. Celebrating its 49th anniversary this year, it has held over 600 seminars involving more than 12 million participants worldwide.

Mawar Saron Church has grown from around 100 members at its founding in 1978 to approximately 15,000. Yohannes Nahuway, the senior pastor, explained that his father, Jacob Nahuway, was inspired by the spiritual message of the late Rev. Cho and used the growth model of Yoido Full Gospel Church to build it into a megachurch.

“Through CGI, God has established our church as a growing community in this land,” Nahuway said. “The Indonesian church is achieving unity amid diversity and forging ahead in Christian fellowship.”
