Yoido Full Gospel Church brings hope to underprivileged households for Chuseok

Yoido Full Gospel Church, in collaboration with Good People International, a non-governmental organization, delivered Hope Box of Love relief items to underprivileged households in Korea ahead of Chuseok, the country's harvest festival holiday.

Yoido Full Gospel Church said it held a Hope Box of Love delivery ceremony Tuesday with Lee Young-hoon, the church's senior pastor, Kim Chun-soo, chairman of Good People International and other officials in attendance.

Prepared in cooperation with CJ CheilJedang, the box contains 10 types of food items, including instant steamed rice, canned ham, seasoned seaweed and home meal replacements.

Good People International has been conducting this donation event for 13 years, providing boxes filled with daily necessities and food items. So far, 291,000 Hope Box of Love have been delivered to underprivileged households in Korea.

Through this year's event, Good People and Yoido Full Gospel Church delivered 7,000 Love Hope Boxes worth 400 million won ($300,000) to vulnerable households, including older adults living alone, people with disabilities and low-income families.

"Love grows as it is shared," Lee said. "Yoido Full Gospel Church and Good People International will continue to spare no effort and sacrifice in practicing love."

Established in 1999, Good People International has been carrying out relief activities in Korea and abroad with the aim of helping all those in need, transcending religion, culture and national borders.
