The Korea Times and Tehran Times foster partnership through MOU

The Korea Times and the Tehran Times have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for content exchange and to explore possible business collaborations.

The MOU, signed on June 19 via an online conference, calls for the two media organizations to share selected content including text, photos, videos and other media formats.

Korea Times President Oh Young-jin said, “In an era where there is no borderline, the free flow of information is pivotal. We expect to see improvement in readership, business opportunities and global context for our mutual readers through this MOU.”

Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati, managing director of the Tehran Times, said that the Tehran-based English daily needs more connections between reliable news sources to provide real insight into what is happening around the world.

“I hope this agreement will provide the ground for better and more coverage of news items in the two countries,” he said.

After the two leaders signed the MOU, Saeed Koozechi, Iranian Ambassador to South Korea, offered a congratulatory remark. “Increasing news exchanges can lead to a better understanding of the public opinion of Iran and South Korea. I believe this MOU will lead to better and closer cooperation between the two countries.”

The MOU is expected to allow the two media outlets to provide more diverse cross-cultural content with insightful perspectives to their readers.
