Rapper Eun Ji-won's father died Wednesday, according to Eun's agency YG Entertainment.

Eun is now preparing for a private funeral and service.

The singer's father, Eun Hee-man, was the cousin of impeached President Park Geun-hye, who has been jailed on charges of bribery and abuse of presidential authority. He was born in 1929 and once worked for Cheong Wa Dae security services.

Ji-won, 40, debuted as a member of SechsKies in 1997 with the album “School Byeolgok.” The team disbanded in 2000, but had a reunion in 2016. He forged a solo career and has appeared on variety shows.
