The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) said Monday that its members have unanimously re-elected James Kim, president and CEO of GM Korea, as the chairman of AMCHAM.
This will be Kim’s fourth consecutive term as the AMCHAM chief.
Kim will play a significant role in broadening advocacy and partnerships between AMCHAM member companies and the Korean government, with a strong emphasis on improving the corporate environment and supporting regulatory reforms.
Song Wook-hwan, general manager of Nike Korea, and Oh Dong-wook, country manager of Pfizer Korea were newly elected to the board of governors (BOG), thus expanding the scope of industries represented by the AMCHAM leadership.
“It is truly an honor to be re-elected as the chairman of AMCHAM and I would like to thank all the candidates who ran in the 2017 AMCHAM BOG election. This year’s election was particularly a difficult one given the immense interest by many prospective candidates,” said AMCHAM Chairman Kim in a press statement.
