Korean soprano Sumi Jo won an award for the song “Simple Song #3,” the theme from Paolo Sorrentino’s film “Youth” at an Italian film festival, Yonhap reported Tuesday.
The movie was nominated in 14 categories including best film, best director and best original song at the David di Donatello Awards. The film festival, which began in 1955, is an authoritative award ceremony in Italy often dubbed the “Italian Oscars.”
At the awards ceremony at Rome’s Tiburtina Studios, Jo performed “Nella Fantasia” to commemorate Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
The song was also nominated at the 88th Academy Award for Best Original Song, the 73rd Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and the 21st Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Song.
