The Korea Times is pleased to announce the winners of the 46th Modern Korean Literature Translation Awards.
The Grand Prize winner for poetry, receiving 2 million won, is Sophie Bowman for her translation of a collection of poems by Jin Eun-young, including “When You Were a Boy.”
Winners of the 2million won commendation awards in fiction are Jung Sl-in for her translation of Lee Jang-wook’s “More Than Half of Haruo”; Helen Cho for her translation of Lee Seung-u’s “The Old Diary”; and the team of Christine Kwon and Park Chul-hwan for their translation of Kim Soom’s “Left-handed Woman.”
We congratulate all winners and hope for a greater number of entries next year. The contest was sponsored by the Hana Financial Group.
