Yoo Jae-woong, 57, professor at the department of public relations, Eulji University, will be listed in the 2016 edition of Marquis Who’s Who in the World.
The university said Thursday that professor Yoo has been recognized for his academic achievement and contribution to society.
Marquis Who’s Who, founded in 1899 by Albert Nelson Marquis, is a series of directories containing short biographies of people who have proved to be of significant value to society.
Marquis Who’s Who in the World is also an international biographical publication of distinguished and noteworthy figures. Yoo passed the civil service exam in 1979. Since then he worked for 28 years as an official responsible for domestic and overseas public relations for the government.
He served as director and assistant minister of the Korean Overseas Information Service for four years from 2004. He has been professor at Eulji University since he retired from the civil service in 2008.
Yoo is a member of the Korean Society for Journalism and Communication Studies, the Korean Association for Broadcasting and Telecommunication Studies, and the Korean Academic Society for Public Relations.
He received the Order of Service Merit from the government for contributions made to national and social development in 2000.
