The Korea Times is delighted to announce the winners of the 45th Modern Korean Literature Translation Awards.
The Grand Prize winner, receiving 5 million won, is the team of Kim Jin-ah and Seth Chandler for their translation of Kim Soom’s “On Slowness.” Winners of the 1 million won commendation awards in fiction are Amber Hyun Jung Kim for her translation of “Nana Before Dawn”; the team of Fred Bottley and Jeong Mi-gyeong for their translation of “Monsoon”; and Kim Sun-kyoung for her translation of a collection of poems by Choi Seung-ja.
