Prof. named chief editor of tourism journal

Prof. Kim Nam-jo

Kim Nam-jo, a professor of tourism at Hanyang University, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Journal of Tourism Sciences. He will serve a two-year term.

Kim now teaches tourism resources planning and management at the university.

He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in urban planning from Korea University in 1985 and 1987, respectively, and earned his doctorate in leisure studies from Pennsylvania State University in 1997.

He previously worked at the Korea Tourism Research Institute as a researcher before joining the Hanyang faculty in 1999.

The Journal of Tourism Science is published by the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea, and was selected as one of 66 representative journals of Korea by the Ministry of Education in 2013.
