Dr. Ahn Sung-hoon, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Seoul National University (SNU), was named editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing-Green Technology (IJPEM-GT), the school said Tuesday.

“The IJPEM-GT provides the public with research findings saving energy and eco-environmental manufacturing,” Ahn said. “It will play a role in helping our country lead in green productivity engineering.”

Ahn studied aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor until 1992 before going on to earn his master’s and doctoral degrees in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He began teaching at SNU in 2003.

In 2005, he was conferred the Bagam Award by the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and has since served as founder and director of the SNU Nepal-Solar Volunteer Corps, president of the University Industrial Technology Force’s Seoul chapter and editor of the IJPEM.

The IJPEM-GT aims to publish high quality developments and research for the international community in all aspects of green precision engineering and manufacturing.
