Sanofi appoints new clinical research director

Sanofi, a global healthcare leader, has appointed Song Yun-jeong, a former clinical science team leader at the Samsung Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), as clinical research director of its Asia Pacific Therapeutic Strategic Unit.

“I am pleased to join Sanofi, which actively invests in preclinical research in the Asia Pacific region,” Song said. “I will work to make sure preclinical trials will be carried out for all biopharmaceuticals in Korea and in the Asia Pacific region.”

Song studied medicine at Seoul National University from 1995 to 2001 and served as a research scholar at the Washington University School of Medicine until 2003 and as clinical fellow of rheumatology at the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) until 2009.

She then served as a Henry Metzger scholar in rheumatology at the NIH until 2011 before joining SIAT affiliated with Samsung Electronics.
