Kim Do-whan, a professor of operations management at the Sejong University School of Business, was inaugurated president of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI), Monday. He will serve a three-year term.
“One of our country’s major government projects is to promote a creative economy, and ICT (information and communications technology) is an essential part of the digital economy’s growth mechanism,” Kim said at his inauguration ceremony.
“I will work to extend the scope of the KISDI’s policy research and to strengthen its policy support to contribute to such government projects,” he added.
Kim studied business administration at Sungkyunkwan University and received his master’s degree in the same field from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1984. He earned his doctorate from Northwestern University in 1993.
