Gender equality institute has new head

Kim Haing

Former presidential spokeswoman Kim Haing was appointed as president of the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education Friday. She will serve a three-year term.

Kim resigned from her post as Cheong Wa Dae spokeswoman on Dec. 31, saying that she would like some time to rest and recharge.

The institute is a body affiliated with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. It aims to promote awareness of gender equality both at home and abroad.
