Actor Uhm Tae-woong to marry in ballerina in Jan.

Actor Uhm Tae-woong, 38, will marry a former ballerina Yoon Hye-jin, 32, on Jan. 9.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of actor Yoon Il-bong, 78,

Uhm announced his marriage at the last scene of KBS 2TV real variety, “Happy Sunday - 1 Night 2 Days” Sunday.

“They met through his sister, Uhm Jung-hwa who is an actor and singer, and the fiance is five weeks pregnant” Sim Entertainment, Uhm’s managing company, officially confirmed after the TV show. “They were dating with marriage in mind since they first met last summer. The fiance looks elegant and intelligent, and he was attracted by her kind-hearted attention.”

Yoon was a principal dancer of the Korean National Ballet and the 2008 recipient of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Minister’s Special Award. She moved to Monte-Carlo Ballet, Monaco last September, but no longer dances. Her father, Yoon, is a living legend of Korean cinema following his 1948 debut. He played leading and supporting roles in many movies such as “Aimless Bullet,” (1961) “The Great Hero, Lee Sun-shin,” (1971) and “I Want to Go” (1984).

Um Tae-woong rose to stardom with the drama, “The Devil,” and starred in such films as “The Birth of a Family,” “Sunny,” and “Chaw.” This year he recorded big hits with both a drama, “Man from the Equator,” and movie, “Architecture 101.”
