BoA returns in five years with 6th album

K-pop singer BoA will make a comeback with her sixth album, which is set to be released early next month.

It is the 23-year-old’s return to the Korean entertainment scene after her 2005 album ``Girls on Top.’’ Her comeback has been one of the season’s most anticipated events for fans, particularly since she is expected to show off a mature new sound that she has polished through her stint overseas.

BoA’s new album is also attracting attention as it marks the 10th anniversary of her debut as an artist. She made her debut in the K-pop scene at age 13 and has since become a music icon in Japan and other Asian countries.

``My heart flutters at the thought of taking the local stage again; I’m very happy. You can look forward to a distinct music and performance style,’’ BoA said in a press release.

BoA will soon begin promotional activities for the new album, which hits stores on Aug. 5.

보아, 5년만에 한국 무대 복귀

‘아시아의 별’ 보아 (23)가 오는 8월 5일 6집 앨범으로 한국에 컴백한다고 밝혀졌다.

보아는 2005년 6월에 발표했던 5집, ‘Girls on Top” 이후 5년만에 한국으로 돌아온것이다.

6집은 보아가 해외에서 활동하면서 쌓은 경험과 지혜가 담긴 앨범이기에 음악팬들은 그만큼 이번 앨범의 기대가 크다.

보아에 대한 팬의 열정이 이 만큼 큰 이유가 또하나 있다. 이번 앨범은 보아가 가수로서 데뷔한지 10주년을 맞아 나온 것이다.

13살의 나이에 보아는 국내에서 어마한 인기와 사랑을 받았을 뿐 아니라 일본 음악 시장까지 장악했다. 그 뿐만 아니라, 보아는 미국까지 진출, 대뷔 앨범이 빌보드차트200 안에 들기도 했다.

BoA는 “오랜 만에 국내 무대에 컴백한다고 생각하니, 설레고 기쁘다. 차별화된 음악과 무대를 기대해달라”며 소감을 밝히기도 했다.
