Hyundai, Kias procurement chief dies of heart failure

Kim Seung-nyun, chief procurement officer of South Korea's top automaker Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller affiliate Kia Motors Corp., died of heart failure on Sunday, company officials said. He was 55.

After suffering a heart attack, Kim was rushed to a Seoul hospital and received emergency treatment, but he was unable to be revived, they said, adding he passed away at around 11 a.m.

Kim worked as chief of staff for Chairman Chung Mong-koo from 2002 before being transferred to the procurement division in 2005. He was promoted to the top post in 2008.
