Bbaek Ga Has Surgery
Bbaek Ga (real name Baek Sung-hyun), a member of hip-hop group Koyote, underwent surgery Friday to remove a brain tumor at a hospital in Seoul, according to his aides.
The 28-year-old rapper was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of an adult's fist.
He told Sports Hankook last Tuesday, ``I'm determined to overcome this. I would like to live serving other people if I will be given a new life.''
He has expressed the hope that he can resume activities with another group member, Kim Jong-min, who was discharged from the military last month and resumed recording activities.
Bbaek Ga is expected to need two months to recover, during which he will receive additional treatment.
Appearing on a KBS 2 TV program, Kim wished that Bbaek Ga would have successful surgery. ``I'm trying not to cry. I believe you will overcome it and we will meet together healthily and work together.''
Making its debut in 1999, Koyote is a popular three-member group, consisting of members Kim, Shin Ji and Bbaek Ga.
빽가 뇌종양 수술 마쳐
혼성 3인조그룹 코요태 멤버 빽가 (본명 백성현)가 22일 서울의 한 병원에서 뇌종양 수술을 성공적으로 마쳤다.
빽가 (28)는 최근 어른 주먹만한 크기의 뇌종양 진단을 받았다.
그는 19일 스포츠한국과의 인터뷰에서 ``이 역경을 반드시 극복한 뒤 새 생명이 주어진다면 다른 사람들을 위한 봉사의 삶을 살겠다''고 말했다.
빽가는 지난달 군에서 제대한 뒤 레코딩 작업을 하고 있는 코요태 멤버 김종민과 함께 활동을 재개할 희망을 피력하기도 했다.
회복에는 2달이 걸릴 것으로 보이는데, 이 기간 동안 빽가는 추가적인 치료를 받게 된다.
김종민은 KBS 2TV 프로그램에 출연해 빽가의 성공적인 수술을 기원하면서 ``울지 않도록 하겠다. 잘 극복해 건강하게 다시 만나 함께 일할 것으로 믿는다''고 말했다.
지난 1999년 데뷔한 코요태는 김종민, 신지, 빽가로 구성돼 있다.
