Rev. Dwight Linton Passes Away at 82

Listen

Rev. Thomas Dwight Linton, a former missionary to Korea, died from injuries he sustained in a three-vehicle crash on Monday in Atlanta, Yonhap News said. He was 82.

Linton, who served as principal of Honam Theological University and Seminary from 1973 to 1978, was born and raised in Korea as the son of missionaries. He returned to Korea in 1952 with his wife, where they served as missionaries for 25 years.

He is a grandchild of Eugene Bell (1868-1925), a Presbyterian missionary who arrived in Korea in 1895. One hundred years after his arrival in Korea, the Eugene Bell Foundation was established to provide medical and developmental assistance to North Korea.
