2PM, already one of the hottest bands in town, has seen their popularity spread overseas ― now they've landed a gig as spokespersons for a popular snack food in Thailand.

The boy band's agency, JYP Entertainment, announced that the seven-member group will be the main models for Thai snack HANAMI.

``We are very excited and grateful that 2PM has been asked to appear in commercials in Thailand, thanks to the ongoing interest and love from Thai fans. The members are all ecstatic about their first overseas commercial plans,'' the agency said.

The appointment is a result of the overall popularity the group has enjoyed since their debut.

Thai-American Nichkhun made headlines in his country for his debut as a member of a Korean pop group, also leading him to become the goodwill ambassador for the Tourism Authority of Thailand last month. 2PM's hit songs ``10 Out of 10'' and ``Again and Again'' reached No. 1 on MTV Thailand and the TV channel [V]'s music charts, even before the release of the group's album in Thailand.

To pay back the love and interest of fans, the group released a special album last June, which made them one of the most popular Korean groups in Thailand.

The seven members will participate in promotional events and appear in both television and newspaper ads for the next 18 months.

2PM held a press conference at the Pathumwan Hotel Monday evening and will return to Korea this Friday after shooting commercials to start working on their next album.

After debuting in 2008, 2PM released three albums, including a Christmas album and have appeared both together and separately in various television shows.
