Actor Oh Man-seok has divorced his wife, costume designer Jo Sang-gyeong, after six years of marriage.
According to his agency, Oh has ended his marriage with his wife because of a ``disparity in characters.''
Their divorce was finalized in late May but was only recently disclosed to the public. Rumors of their split had been brewing since the end of last year, but their agency continued to deny it. A formal announcement was officially made on July 22.
According to the agency, Oh has custody of their six-year-old daughter. The former couple met while they were students at the Korean National University of Arts. After dating for a year and half, they married in 2001.
Starring in such musicals as ``Grease" and ``Hedwig and the Angry Inch," Oh achieved stardom with the KBS mini-series ``The Man of the Vineyard."
Jo Sang-gyeong has worked as a costume designer for the movies ``Faceless Beauty," ``Old Boy," ``The War of Flower," ``The Host," ``I'm a Cyborg but that's OK,'' among many others, and is currently working on ``Modern Boy."
