Singer and actress Jang Na-ra will hold a solo concert at Beijing Exhibition Center June 8 and 9. She will be the first South Korean female singer to do so.
``For the first part of the show, she will sing in Mandarin dressed in Chinese traditional costume, against the stage set decorated in Chinese style,’’ Joo Ho-sung, actor and Jang’s father who heads a company related to his daughter’s entertainment activities in Beijing, was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency. ``In the second part, she will sing and dance Korean songs. The third part will be a theme based on unity, combining the traditional songs and dance from the two countries, as well as Jang’s own songs and dance routines.’’
Jang has gained a sizeable fan base among Chinese-speaking audiences in recent years, releasing Chinese-language albums and appearing in a Chinese drama. The 26-year-old is also an honorary ambassador for promoting the 15th anniversary of South Korea-China diplomatic relations.
