
Global business hotel chain Holiday Inn opened an Incheon-Songdo branch within the Incheon Free Economic Zone on Sept. 5. The hotel is equipped with 202 rooms with 14 suites and additional facilities such as a bar, business center, meeting room, fitness center and restaurants. Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo is connected to the Central Park Station of Incheon’s subway line no.1.
The InterContinental Hotels Group, which runs the business hotel chain as well as the InterContinental chains, has 4,700 hotels in 100 countries across the globe. In Korea, there are Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, InterContinental Seoul COEX and Holiday Inn chains in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, and in Gwangju and Pyeongchang.

JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul offers a selection of healthy Korean dishes for the fall season at its premium buffet restaurant “Tavolo 24.” The featured dishes are “ogolgyejjim,”“black young goat galbijjim,”“chueotang,”“steamed lotus leaf wrap,” and “grilled eel.” All of the dishes are prepared with the finest ingredients by expert chefs specializing in Korean cuisine.

Domestic shoes brand Babara has launched a sneakers line for the fall/winter season. Its eight designs offer style and comfort. They incorporate various materials such as velvet, suede, camouflage-patterned leather, snake skin-patterned leather as well as colors to create a mix and match style. They come with 15 millimeter and 40 millimeter hidden outsoles and good cushioning to provide comfort. Domestic cosmetics brand Hera has launched its collection for the fall/winter season. Titled “Eternal Feminine,” the collection is focused on bringing out feminine elegance and sensuality. It consists of six cosmetics products – an eye shadow palette (62,000 won), lipstick (35,000 won), blusher (45,000 won), lip gloss (32,000 won), finishing pact (45,000 won) and nail enamel (15,000 won).

Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul is hosting a dinner concert featuring “Britain’s Got Talent” winner and opera singer Paul Potts on Oct. 4. The concert, to be held at the hotel’s outdoor pool “Oasis,” will enable guests to enjoy a poolside barbeque buffet featuring a variety of meats and seafood. Dinner is served from 6 to 7 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.

In celebration of the Royal Culture Festival which will be held from Sept. 19-28, the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation and Cultural Heritage Administration will host a night concert at the Jongmyo Jeongjeon from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Sept. 26 to 28. The royal ancestral rites music concert includes music and dance performances, unlike the usual ritual performances held during the culture festival. This is the first time a night performance is held at the shrine.
The royal ancestral rites music called Jongmyo Jeryeak in Korean was designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2001. Tickets are available for online reservation at Interpark. They are sold on a first-come-first-served basis and one person can buy up to four tickets. Tickets cost 10,000 won per person.
