This autumn, give your dressing rooms, dining rooms and bathrooms a makeover using candles and diffusers. Decorator Jeon Sun-young says they can make any space a great deal more comfortable without bleeding your wallet. Here are six candles and diffusers that will ensure your home remains warm, cozy and fragrant as fall arrives.

1 Blackberry and Bay Home Candle, by Jo Malone 2 Wedding Cake Soy Jar Candle, by Keystone Candle 3 Deep Summer Soy Wax Candle in bone China holder, by BsaB
Soy candles are a functional form of home décor. These candles, made of soy wax, are scented with organic essential oils, and melt slowly into a pool of fragranced oil for an extra-relaxing ambience. Soybean oil lowers the melting point of the candle, which results in a faster scent dispersion. These candles tend to last longer and cost less. BsaB’s Deep Summer soy candle comes molded in an egg-shaped holder crafted from translucent bone china and recalls a bouquet of lavender and rosemary. For a fruitier welcome, keep a Jo Malone candle lit for three to four hours. Jo Malone’s blackberry and bay candle graces the room with a mischievous scent that brings back childhood memories of picking blackberries, with an added freshness reminiscent of just-gathered bay and bramble woods. Keystone’s soy jar candles look great in any home, with soy wax in bold colors poured into Madison glass jars to add ambience to any room. Keystone candles feature natural fiber wicks for an even burn, and provide enticing natural scents sourced from flowers and fruits.

4 Spirituelle Verte Pot Pourri Apothicaire, by MAD et LEN 5 Mosaic Air Designer diffusers, by Millefiori 6 Hourglass diffuser, by diptyque
Those with children may find diffusers more appealing. With the aim of “designing spaces,” Millefiori produces Air Designers, diffusers that use natural ingredients to produce high-quality fragrances. The diffuser’s bottle, illuminated with small mosaic tiles, makes it a great accessory for your home. The diptyque hourglass diffuser relies on gravity and osmotic action rather than reeds or heat – simply turn the hourglass over to begin a new fragrance cycle. With each turn, the diffuser releases its delicate notes of roses and blackcurrant leaves into the air, and each cycle lasts about 20 minutes. At living shop Chapter One, you can find MAD et LEN scented potpourri rocks, perfumed lava rocks that are featured in handmade wrought-iron vessels. These are extra-absorbent and will diffuse a rich fragrance when infused with essential oils, delighting the senses for hours.

Candle brand Candleline offers do-it-yourself classes at its offline store, where consumers can learn how to make soy candles tailored to their needs and preferences. Online stores like What Soap and Candle Works sell everything from essential oils, wax and wicks to beakers and electronic scales for homemade candles. Use leftover perfume to make diffusers at home. Mix ethanol and your favorite perfume in a seven-to-three ratio, pour it into a glass jar, and stick a few reeds into it for a one-of-a-kind diffuser.
