An Asian couple invited me to their house for a saju consultation. They attended one of my lectures and afterwards decided to ask for my advice. I could sense the eagerness from their facial expressions in doing their first consultation.
For some, asking for a saju consultation ― prediction of their life using tarot cards ― is seen as strange, bogus or untrustworthy.
Fortunately I saw that the host was open-minded and wanted to know if his life concerns could be alleviated. During the saju process, he carefully paid attention to my readings and listened to my advice. I truly appreciated his positive attitude during the consultations. He first listened then confirmed which fortunes were correct and naturally requested further explanation to predictions he did not understand.
The man I was consulting was actually a wealthy individual, a person that created his own rags-to-riches story. He built his own fortune by moving to North America from his country, an underdeveloped country in South Asia, when he was young. With hard work he soon became wealthy in his newly-adopted country. During his journey to becoming wealthy, faithfulness has been his best asset, as when he worked with business partners he never disappointed them.
The wealth he has acquired has not been spent only for himself and his family but also those in desperate poverty from his motherland.
When I first met him, however, he was devastated as his contract had suddenly terminated, which hit his business hard. Times were now tough for the once-wealthy man.
During his consultation, the results fire and master came up, showing how passionate he is about his life and work. Next, his fortune showed strong money stars in his month pillar, indicating how he amassed a great fortune during his life. He then received a water element on his day branch, meaning he places high value on his career and social responsibility. This also represents how much he cares for his children and their education.
He also asked me to read the saju of his son as he wanted him to be a great politician and contribute to his country’s development in the future.
Despite his frustrations in life, it won’t lead to death according to his saju. Thankfully, the man hadn’t given up hope. I was able to give him hope for a brighter future. In turn, he promised to continue believing.
When I notice excessive anxiety from my clients, I prepare myself with two scenarios. One is to cope with any negative readings that may come up. In other words, the saju may not always be able to show a crystal-clear solution for the problems they are facing. In this case, I need to prepare a counter plan in advance to mitigate any negative impact these saju results may have on my clients. This is because many times if a client sees an unfavorable fortune, they may panic, stress, or worry even more than before.
The other situation is when the clients refuse to heed any unfavorable readings that show up. However, people should be open to hearing all outcomes, especially if they paid a fortune teller to predict their future. Understandably, it is not unusual for ordinary people to embrace something that goes against their more hopeful expectation. In this case, these people will ask me to redo their fortune again and again until they hear a favorable reading.
I am skeptical how some fortune tellers boast of having many clients a day. I feel having too many clients can actually be a bad idea, as I don’t want to meet more than 4 or 5 clients a day. To accept more than 5 would exceed my energy to properly analyze and convey my fortunes to my clients to the best of my ability. Just starting a saju consultation requires my utmost concentration, as it absolutely calls for the full discourse with my clients and listening to every detail they tell me. Nearly after each reading is over, I become exhausted. Furthermore, it would be a disservice to my customers to do a reading when I am not properly rested to accurately give their fortune.
Saju readings are actually harder than one thinks. They require not only the reader and client’s concentration during the process, but the chemistry of both parties as well. On top of how well the fortune teller gets along with their customers, how they empathize with their clients and console them if a bad reading is shown is important. Being sympathetic alone can be the difference between a successful consultation and one that goes bad. Being a saju reader is not easy which is why even quite proficient in the craft often fail to find clues during their readings.
I find it invaluable to have conversations during saju in peoples’ times of hardship. Sometimes hearing their hard experiences brings me great pleasure while other times a deep regret of sorrow. Although most people visit me with various sources of pain in their life, it brings me great happiness when I am able to deliver an encouraging result. Unfortunately, I also feel terrible when a negative reading is shown.
