I have taught how to read the profession that corresponds to his or her aptitude by saju. Although there are more in-depth expertise, this practice will help you cultivate your career path with a great enlightenment.
The first step is to define the day master, which can be easily acquired by one of your smart phone applications. You can also Google them with relevant search words, such as saju, bazi, feng shui or 10,000-year calendar.
Upon keying in your birth year, month, day and hour, you can figure out the day stem (out of eight letters, “palja”), which is the celestial element of your birthday. We call it your day master. Without having trouble to understand the foreign languages, just try to identify the colors. They are classified into five according to the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
In my previous column, you would have learned about the propensity of water element, here is more information about the rest elements and advanced skills to read the saju in various cases.

The wood element pursues a stable life and tries to acquire fame. It doesn’t put much emphasis on elaborating the details but rather contemplates and understands the whole situation. It is future-oriented and independent. It has a strong desire for honor while seeking freedom. The corresponding occupations have a concern in honor, liberty and charity. We can also simply think about the professions handling wood, paper and cloths in substance.
Forestry, paper manufacturing, printing, publishing, bookstores, library, textile, culture, stationery, farm, landscaping, religion, consultation, media, professor, art, welfare, lawyers, writers and civil servants are relevant to the wood element.
The fire element is passionate and aggressive. It shows an enthusiastic attitude toward his or her goals. It is emotional and active, having hard time to conceal its feelings. We can presume some occupations that deal with illumination, electricity, gas, heating, computer, cosmetics, radiation, flowers, creative art and fashion.
The earth element is neither active as the fire nor contemplative as the metal and water. It doesn’t seem so distinctive but rather vague compared to the rest four. It tries to harmonize with others by showing credibility and faith. It serves well as a go-between. It is good at intermediating trade, marriage and problem settlement. However, when the earth energy is too thick, meaning too many earth elements in the saju, it may behave tactlessly and become stubborn and secretive causing conflict with others.
It is appropriate to the occupations of trading, teaching, consultation, philosophy, couple managers, broker of real estate, leasing services, social workers, constructions, landscaping and funeral services.
The metal element is solid and decisive. It is persistent and loyal to his or her affiliated group. It is full of chivalry and expresses righteous indignation. It can demonstrate its competence at the fields of engineering, technology, mining industry, police, computer sciences, dental clinic, finance, tax, accounting, distribution, automobile business, jewelry, weaponry and traffic.
The water element is intelligent, calculative and meticulous, showing good planning ability. It can distinguish itself at the fields of distribution and retail business, internet, fishing industry, beverage business, bathhouses, refrigerating, frozen food, swimming, seafood and water purifier business.
If you scrutinize more, you will apprehend that there are some similarities in wood-fire, and metal-water associations. Actually as saju consists of diverse elements not a single day master, you should see the overall energy flow in it. That way we can give tips on how one can develop future career.
