Suh to head Korean Cancer Association

Korean Cancer Association elected Suh Hyun-suk, vice president of Ewha Womans University and director of Ewha Womans University Medical Center, as its new president for the next one year.

Suh, who specializes in radiation therapy of breast cancer, has been leading treatment of female cancers in the country, setting up clinics for female cancer patients at the hospital.

Dental treatment completed in one day

Yonsei University Dental Hospital said it started operating a “One Day Clinic,” where treatment of cavities, worn out teeth, fractured teeth, or ceramic restoration using computer will be completed within one day. While it usually takes at least two visits to dentists to complete such treatment, it will be done on the day of the visit at the “One Day Clinic,” according to the hospital. Comedy show for cancer patients

Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital in Seoul said it is holding a class on breast cancer and liver diseases and a comedy show for patients.

The class will include topics such as self diagnosis, prevention and treatment of breast cancer and information on chronic liver diseases including liver cancer. The comedy show will be performed by around 10 comedians from “Gag Republic,” a show on cable TV channel MBN.

Presentation on eczema scheduled

Seoul National University is holding a lecture on eczema on the hands, at the children’s hospital building of the hospital complex in downtown Seoul, at 2 p.m., July 1.

Doctors at the hospital will provide information ranging from symptoms and diagnosis to treatment and prevention.
