Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical announced the availability of “Ibanpos,” an osteoporosis treatment injection for menopausal women.
After menopause, many women experience a decrease of minerals in their bones due to the lack of estrogen, a female hormone. This leads to osteoporosis, or porous bone, which makes them prone to fractures.
The company said Ibanpos prevents and treats osteoporosis by stopping calcium loss and increasing mineral adsorption in the bones. “Unlike oral medicines, Ibanpos needs only four injections a year,” a company spokesperson said.
