Shinzo Abe
By Janet Shin
Do you believe reincarnation? As the famous saying puts it, history repeats itself. It can be by historical facts, but sometimes by certain historical figures who induced critical incidents. By observing their lives, or reading their saju, one might gain some interesting insight into these people.
I had a visit of a client the other day, who was once a presidential secretary and journalist. He often calls me to read his saju. That evening he wanted a Tarot reading hoping to hear any good news about his business. It could have been one of usual meetings, but ended up an extraordinary one.
He himself became a reiki therapist to heal people owing to certain energy power he holds. He used to cure terminal cancer patients and foresee sudden accidents without any scientific basis, which sometimes proved to be correct while others times not. Accordingly, having a consultation with him brings an arcane experience from time to time. While relying on my saju reading for specific issues he has, he also conveys his opinion about current issues and popular figures.
He brought up a topic of conversation about Shinzo Abe, current Prime Minister of Japan. He mentioned that he felt an incarnation qi of a past historic dictator, on Abe. It was Adolf Hitler, a German politician who led the Nazi Party and was at the center of World War II in Europe. His opinion is totally personal taking his eccentric inclination into account. However due to his past profession, there was something logical in his manner of speaking despite its complete irrationality. He asked me to compare the saju of the two. To make a long story short, their saju were not identical. Especially that of Hitler exudes some psychological imbalance, having a fire day master, while Abe’s does not.

Looking back through our recent history, we have observed the collapse of dictatorship during the years of 2010 and 2011. I have read the year fortunes of those years, stating in my past columns 2011 would be remembered as that of fallen dictatorships. Six dictators left their seats. Their saju revealed they had either metal or fire day masters, which implied they possessed authoritarian powers or pursued a distorted regime when their saju were malfunctioning. It doesn’t have to mean a certain malicious power. Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, called the Iron Lady, and the strongest president in Korean history, Park Chung-hee, who established the development of economy, had the same metal day master. On the other hand, Kim Jong-il, the former leader of North Korea and succeeded by his son, Kim Jong-un, had the metal day master too. Consequently, regardless of our value judgment whether right or wrong, there indeed is an association between one’s propensity and the day master written in saju.
As anticipated, the saju of Abe came out with yang metal day master. Metal is basically heavy. It is sharp, charismatic and decisive. Metal can be a precious substance, for example, gold or a destructive device, a sword. They can be focused, emotional, intuitive, confident and aggressive in pursuing goals. Metals tend to be loners, isolated and often withdraw. Metal types may be stubborn, driven by an inner faith whether they are right or wrong. They can be extremely driven to pursue their goals. Yang metal people are of great resolution. They are loyal, heavy and domineering.
Everyone can perceive firmness and hardness as the key words that represent the metal. When it comes to one’s life, it may express its great resolution and leadership, but also portrays opinionated feature. Abe is taking drastic measures to reinstate Japanese economy, so called shock therapy and making audacious political steps by denying their act of aggression in the past history. Actually, the tenacious leadership of metal does not adapt well to modern democracy as it often ignores other people’s situation. His recent string of controversial moves and reckless statements, followed by other Japanese politicians, incurs global ostracism. This may cause counterargument and lead to the nation’s isolation as we saw from previous collapse of dictatorships in the other side of the world. Modern leadership evolves to be more flexible and balanced. In order to be a successful metal representing righteousness, justice and truth, they need to show an embracing leadership. Then they can develop a loyal friendship with others.
