Since I first learned about saju, the major motive of my studying and practicing it came from the question of whether or not it could be explained logically. I started my first writing with a title of “Superstition or Science,” Although I knew it was rather inappropriate to consider saju just as a scientific theory, I have constantly insisted that saju shouldn’t be understood via superstitious belief.
As a tool to elucidate saju theory, I selected English, not Korean or Chinese. Any absurd theory had to be eliminated intentionally or accidentally because they couldn’t be translated in suitable terms. Some saju terms are still awkward and required additional explanations when they are translated literally. Because those derived from ancient Chinese characters imply many different things. At any rate, I do believe, saju and its teaching became much more logical and rational after it was written in English.
I often dispute some issues of saju readings and even denied certain theories when they are not reasonable. I have tried to refrain from mingling with other saju mongers as I realized how they delude the world and deceive people. As a study correlates with many other studies, other oriental studies, such as fengshui, face readings, palm readings, and oriental medicine were also explored to see what else can be read to understand more about universe, nature and human beings. The ultimate goal was to read our life and destiny.
Thousands of saju have been read, whether they were that of historical figures, current celebrities or ordinary people. They were read in order to verify saju theories, and most importantly, because people wanted me to read and foresee their destiny.
By the way, as I met more people, listened to their dramatic life stories and gave presentations for various groups, I got to experience more offbeat situations, which were could not always be explained logically.
It was not an unusual situation that I got a call from someone whom I didn’t recall, saying that all I had said would happen happened. When a man had called from Canada last year, for example, he had just resigned and been looking for a new job. As his saju reading told, he was hired early this year. And he called me again to consult about other issues.
In my last reading of a lady’s saju, I mumbled that I couldn’t find her father’s energy in her saju. She didn’t say anything at that time, but I later heard from her friend that her father passed away last year.
These are, however, things that can be explained by each element in one’s saju. So they are logical aspects of saju.
Several years ago, a stranger paid a visit to my saju café without a reservation. It wasn’t a usual time for saju consultation. But we admitted his visit because of a certain bizarre mood in him. We were in a serious discussion of saju theories. There were a shaman, a saju master and a lady who just started to learn saju in our group. The stranger pulled his cap down low over his eyes so I couldn’t see his face well at first. But I was feeling a sudden chill when I actually looked at his face. I saw he had inflamed eyes. I was about to decline, but he politely asked again to read his life. And he sounded desperate.
Before we finished reading, he blurted out that he was possessed by a spirit. He confessed he couldn’t repudiate the fact after all his effort.
Then, he said he saw a stronger spirit in this café than his. There were only four of us. And we surely thought it was the shaman of our group. But he actually pointed to the lady, who just started learning saju. He said the power of the spirit behind her was so huge that he was overwhelmed. And he rushed to leave.
At that moment, the lady, who is still one of my faithful students, disclosed her family history. Her great grandmother was a possessed shaman. Although she doesn’t feel any special power in her now, she, for some reason, worships her great grandmother and keeps holding a ritual every year.
Was he just an insane person and was it nothing serious? Honestly, I cannot explain it logically. She keeps visiting me every week to study. From time to time she would bring some appetizing food saying that she thought I would like it. And she was always right. She would bring two umbrellas on a rainy day when I always forget to bring one.
She has yang wood day master born in winter. She’s got too much water energy in her saju making her take root in frozen ground. She is not healthy and her life has been filled with unpleasant experiences. I used to say she needs fire energy to warm her up. Fire is her favorable energy. Fire element is often related with a spiritual power.
