Saju may not only read one’s life but also read social phenomena through the mirror of cosmic principle. It is based on how the universe and its energy around us have been defined. If you cognized saju as one of occult practices to read one’s destiny by enumerating incomprehensible foreign letters, broaden your view to see other aspects of your surroundings than one’s personal lives.
The theory of the five elements and their co-relationships were originated by how people considered the universe from the ancient times. By applying this theory to human lives, people tried to infer one’s past, present and future.
Then, once you begin to pay attention and train yourself to read your surroundings by this theory, you will be able to grasp more truths, how and why certain phenomenon occurred in general.

For some time, we have heard about the news of Apple filing a patent infringement suit against Samsung. Why do I bring up this topic, out of the blue?
I cannot help laughing when I first heard this.
I have already read the saju of Steve Jobs and even wrote about it in one of my previous columns. We, of course, cannot identify an image of a corporation with that of the owner, but Apple seems to be merged with a strong iconic image of Jobs and people cannot separate the destiny of Apple from that of Jobs. This may pose a negative impact on Apple’s destiny going forward and it will eventually have to be overcome.
On the other hand, I don’t incline to read the nature of Samsung by the saju of group chairman Lee Kun-hee.
Anyway, I foresaw the way Apple does things and the way Samsung reacts. Let’s see how I defined the nature of Apple, first. Steve Jobs was born with the energy of yang fire, having both strong knowledge and expression stars. This is a good example of noble and intelligent saju according to ancient text books. Although there is no support of fire element in other branches, the day master is strengthened by the knowledge stars (wood element) and it circulates to the earth energy of his expression star. One with this kind of saju structure is intelligent and knowledgeable to produce something out of one’s idea. However, the stronger the expression star is, the more one tends not to follow the restriction of the career star. If you look at the five elements generation and restriction cycle, you will notice the fact that while the career star puts a restraint on one’s activity, the expression star does the same on the career star. As we get to learn lessons from our life, there is no absolute winner and we must learn to agree through either the happiness or the sadness in our life paths.
People with strong expression stars are like those who are very talented and they know they are more capable than their boss. So instead of obeying the order, they are to do something in their own way. For this reason, the overly strong expression star was called sang-gwan, that means “damage one’s career.” So, for those who have strong expression star, it was recommended not to have a career star in the saju, in order to avoid disturbance. Otherwise, it is also recommended to have a powerful knowledge star to control the expression star. Now you will understand why we highly appreciate the saju of Jobs. It doesn’t have to do with the fact how famous or popular he is.
Now, if we consider the nature of Samsung, it is more complicated. Rather than having the structure of a knowledge star-day master expression, Samsung is involved with other cycles. It definitely takes the money and career stars into consideration. The career star is regarded as how one is recognized by others so one with career star structure tries not to lose one’s face. Samsung would try to settle their patent battle via amicable agreement without reference to how they are seen ostensibly. We all know that they have long enjoyed a symbolic relationship, but Apple may continue to make noises.
