Several television shows have recently presented great singers or those with other talents captivating our eyes and minds. They mesmerized the audience, some of whom were moved to tears.
The way people displayed their talents was limited in the olden days compared to now, especially in the Orient. It was mostly either by writing or by reading. Talents such as dancing and singing as well as other artistic forms were held in low regard.
Expression is a key activity in modern times. Although songs, soap operas and movies are still being censored for political and other reasons, certain songs touch people’s heart regardless of the difference in culture or language and some films have been watched by hundreds of millions of people globally. Popular culture appeals to international fans so people exuberate and relate their lives to those of characters in the stories and songs. I grew up listening to the beautiful songs of Michael Jackson and was inspired by guitar tunes of Eric Clapton.
How can anyone not appreciate the beauty of those talents when they earn more money than people in most other professions while winning people’s affection.
However, from a different angle, the expression star is still not particularly welcomed by some of my female Korean clients in their 40s and 50s. Whenever they are told of a strong expression star in their saju, they groan saying that “Do I have to continue working?” The expression star signifies both the talent and effort to make a living.

Once we plot saju, each pillar of one’s birth year, month, day and time will show as in the chart below. And the expression star is the one of the five elements that is generated by the day master.
One’s personality is characterized by the day stem, and the other elements in saju will be read by the life span of each pillar in sequence.
● Year pillar to read one’s past life and childhood (0-15 years of age),
● Month pillar to read parents and siblings (16-30 years of age),
● Day pillar to read marriage life (31-45 years of age)
● Time pillar to read latter years in tri-dimension (after 46 years of age).
Meanwhile, the five element generation and restriction cycles show the dynamic aspects of one’s life, such as knowledge, friendship, expression, wealth and career.
You will be able to easily figure out whether you have an expression star and whether it is healthy or not upon plotting your saju.
In regards to the path of life, people in their middle ages will be read mostly by their day and time pillars. So having expression stars in these pillars are often regarded as having to continue working even when they are old enough to relax and enjoy life. Korean women especially interpret that their husbands are not capable of making a decent living, thus forcing them to work.
However, in fact, this is not so true. It is a fortunate thing to be able to work and it means they are healthy enough to hold down jobs so they should be able to enjoy the life in which they can continue to express their talents.
When it comes to perception ability, the analytic energy comes from the knowledge star, and intuition comes from the expression star. In show business, intuition is often recognized more than rationality.
It is not sufficient just to read whether there is an expression star in your saju to read your talents.

On top of that, we should read whether one’s talent clashes with others in order to see if one lives a happy, satisfied and successful life. It is fortunate that one may express his or her talents well and they are recognized by others.
And a more important aspect lies in whether the talents are recognized by others, or whether they in conflict.
I am often asked to read the saju of those who wish to be singers or some type of entertainers. But when their expression stars are not positioned well in their saju, I gently advise them to look for other career paths.
I read the saju of those who are very successful in show business and they all revealed healthy expression stars without exception.
