The year 2010 has come to close and it was a year when the rapid spread of the smartphone helped cause the rise of the words ``social’’ and ``network.’’ Social commerce, social networks, Twitter, Facebook, social media, smartphones and so forth, have been printed and broadcast all over the world. This e-world has not only been related with the IT business but with politics, the economy, entertainment, advertising and the lives of every ordinary person.
In this regard, it would be interesting to read the saju of Mark Zuckerberg, software developer and co-founder of Facebook. He was listed as one of the most intriguing people of 2010 by CNN and as person of the year by Time.

Looking at his saju, the day master tells of the energy of a big mountain. Being born in May implies a strong influence of the knowledge star (fire). The career (wood) and money (water) stars are sitting comparatively far from his day pillar. The career star tells of power or social identity, in other words. The expression star (metal) sitting on his day branch suggests his continuous creation of new ideas.
The expression star of metal (grey) and the knowledge star of fire (red) are in conflict with each other. This usually generates unexpected and troublesome outcomes from what he does, and it also involves his reputation.
2010 was a year of metal and wood, which had the vibrations of an earthquake around the career, expression and knowledge stars in his life. The wood of 2010, metal and fire of Zuckerberg’s saju clashed, conflicted and detracted among themselves.
So, how is the ``social’’ e-world related with saju?

I have said before that saju is to read one’s life and destiny through one’s birth year, month, day and time. That would imply that there is no ``social’’ concept in it, or any ``media.’’ Instead, it sounds purely like one’s private life. However if you analyze saju, you will see that it contains a variety of information. It starts from one’s personality then expands to infer one’s biological and social relationships, including one’s emotional and physical situation.
Let’s see how these are practicable by looking at a saju chart.
First of all, saju consists of four pillars ― year, month, day and time of birth, which are written from right to left. And vertically, they combine the energy from heaven and earth ― upper letters are stems and lower letters are branches. So saju ultimately comprises of four pillars and eight letters.
These eight letters are symbolized as yin and yang, and the five elements. In order to read one’s destiny, a saju master must decode these signs one by one.

Once the saju is plotted, you figure one’s personality by the energy of the day stem, which is called a day master. Then, the month branch, being the season of one’s birth, serves as the environment in one’s life. The other seven letters, excluding the day master, are classified to a social and biological network of a day master. For example, they can be a sign for one’s boss, husband, mother, school life, grandmother, friends or secret lover, etc. The way of reading and its translation are infinite.
Also, if you look at it from another angle, you are able to see one’s childhood, previous life, ancestors, current and future, through the year, month, day and time.
