(39) Knowledge Stars (II)

Listen

By Janet Shin

Sometimes, a fool achieves more than a wise man does. A wise man solely relies on rationality than fortune. On the other hand a fool takes the other way round to achieve tremendous success.

People usually forget fortune by believing they achieved something because of their wisdom. However they must admit the fact that it is their fortune to live in a time and space when and where their wisdom and ability are well recognized. The same ability is sometimes valued by others and sometimes neglected.

If people have the intricate knowledge stars, they are not focused and can't express their talent well. They are vague, changeable and lack thoroughness. Their fates are not pure and they change their thoughts day by day. Sometimes they are hot-tempered. They lack self-examination so they are not considered to have a good personality. The achievement of knowledge and contracts are not easy. They have mixed thoughts and can't focus on one thing. On the other hand they may absorb much knowledge well. They are indecisive and hesitant. They have conflicts in their thoughts so most time they may make wrong decision.

During the period of intricate knowledge stars, people can't organize their surroundings and they may think up unusual ideas, which may surprise others. The knowledge star in the same yin and yang is creative and adapts to circumstances well. But if the knowledge star is constrained by the money star, it can't express its talent well. People with knowledge stars in the same yin and yang tend to concentrate on one thought. So they are involved in investigation work or philosophical studies. Usually they learn knowledge by themselves. They have unique ideas and they become wise when they are young.

But they do not study something under a formal system and are usually involved in artistic and athletic activities. They also have very high pride in themselves.

On the other hand the knowledge stars in different yin and yang are following the path of righteousness. They are calm and well planned. They are also confident about themselves and can't endure themselves when they do something outside the rules. But different from the knowledge star in the same yin and yang, the knowledge star in different yin and yang may endure the situation and overcome it. The knowledge star in different yin yang is recognized better by others than the knowledge star in the same yin and yang.

Here is a saju of a man born in 1961 (the year of cow), fifth month of the lunar calendar. He was born with the energy of mu earth-day master. Usually people with a mu day stem show themselves as strong and broad-minded. However in this saju, his knowledge star, o/fire, where and when he was born lacks the stability due to the ja water next to it and clashes with it. We often see the clashes of two branches in saju.

While we will review the details of these clashes in later columns, let's see how it influenced this person's fate. First of all, it shook up his career-gap wood.

O fire is the place where the gap wood stands. By conflicting with ja water, it destroys the stability of gap wood. He used to be a captain in a high rank university and started his career at a well-known company after graduation. He worked as a capable securities analyst for several years but as the stock market collapsed, he had to retire ignominiously in his late thirties. Since then he hasn't been able to keep a solid career, due to the collapse of his financial background, his honor, his reputation and his married life. Now he is unemployed and his marriage is also in danger. Analyzing thousands of people's saju, it is interesting to read the kaleidoscope of life by the activities of branches. For some, branch clashes are fatal while they are evolutionary for others. Knowing fate and finding a way to overcome it mentally and physically is the reason for saju study. We will continue to study how it works in our life.
