For those looking for a leisurely stroll to enjoy the early autumn weather, come join the 362nd Turtle Marathon. As an added bonus, there is also a chance to win various prizes.

Along with regular citizens, 2007 Miss Koreas will also participate in the marathon and Korea National Council on Social Welfare President Kim Deuk-lin will be the honorary head for the event.

Much like how the turtle in Aesop's fable would have completed his race, no running is involved. A scenic seven-kilometer walk through the Namsan Mountain area, the event has taken place once a month since 1978. This event is organized by The Korea Times' sister company, the Hankook Ilbo.

After the event, Nongshim will distribute water to all participants and raffle-winners will take home prizes that include kitchen goods and bicycles in a sideshow program led by comedian Lee Sang-yong.

Certification for two hours of volunteer work will be given to middle and high school students who participate in beautifying the environment.

The Turtle Marathon is free.
