Major orchestras and leading dance companies from Hong Kong will visit Seoul this fall to take part in Hong Kong Week 2025 @ Seoul, a tourism roadshow highlighting cultural elements.
The event will open on Sept. 26 with the Hong Kong Ballet’s performance of "Romeo & Juliet" at the National Theater of Korea, marking the troupe’s first appearance in the country.
On Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, students from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Dance will present the experimental "Collab Asia Project" at Sungkyunkwan University. The same performance will take place also at a park in the nearby Daehangno neighborhood on Oct. 3 and 4.
Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will perform on Oct. 11 at Lotte Concert Hall, joined by pansori singer Kim Soo-in, organist Park Joon-ho, mouth organist Chen Yiwei and the Wizard Children’s Choir. The program will include works by Tan Dun, the Chinese-American composer and conductor known for blending Eastern and Western traditions.
On Oct. 19, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will appear at the Seoul Arts Center with pianist Sunwoo Yekwon, winner of the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. The program will feature Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 Op. 23 and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 , as well as works by Korean composer Chin Un-suk and Chinese composer Charles Kwong.
The Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra will follow on Oct. 23 with a concert featuring pianist KaJeng Wong at Bucheon Art Center.

Dance performances will continue throughout the month. Labora Terry Arts, a private Hong Kong company, will present "Travel of the Soul: Echoes After Time" on Oct. 17 and 18 at ARKO Arts Theater, exploring themes of life and death with dancers from both Korea and Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Dance Company will perform "A Dance of Celestial Rhythms" at the National Gugak Center on Oct. 18 and 19, interpreting the 24 solar terms through movement, light and sound. City Contemporary Dance Company will close the dance program with "Mr. Blank 2.0" on Oct. 24 and 25 at Gangdong Art Center.
In addition to music and dance, the festival will include art exhibitions and film screenings. The event reflects the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s broader efforts to promote the city as a destination for culture and the arts.
