ING Dance Korea announced Thursday that it will host an international dance festival in the metropolitan area next month.
Based in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, the non-profit contemporary dance organization has fostered international artistic collaboration and professional dance programs via various festival platforms.
ING Dance Korea said it will host the Arts in Tank Dance Festival in Korea (ADFK) at various performance venues in Seoul and Seongnam from July 1 through July 6. After that, the Arts in Tank Dance Film Festival will run from July 15 through 27.
Both events are in their eighth year.
“The ADFK is an international dance event with globally renowned dancers from 11 countries,” ING Dance Korea said in a press release.
“It is a platform where not only dancers and artists but also visitors can participate and enjoy together.”
Under this year’s theme of “Convergence and Integration,” the festival is also expected to serve as an instrument for networking and cooperation among artists in dance, music and visual arts.
Major performance venues, including the Seongnam Atrium, Seoul Artists Support Center and Space Thunder will provide stages for artists who perform during the event.
Some 40 performances, including “Tara Gower” by Australia’s Link; “Sissies: Something Perfect Between Ourselves” by BBMOVE of the U.S.; “Ablucion” by Mexico’s Compania de Danza de la FAE; and “Pendulum” by the Khambatta Dance Company of the U.S., are set to entertain audiences during the festival.
The event also features an academic platform among top international and domestic dancers. LINK Director Michael Whaites, BBMOVE Producer Bernard Brown and Laboratory Dance Project head Shin Chang-ho were scheduled to share ideas and vision for their projects.
