Sejong University Art Club, composed of professors from various academic fields who share a passion for painting, will hold an exhibition titled "And, Drawing.”

The Sejong University Art Club, established in 2011 under the guidance of Lee Kang-hwa, a professor of Western painting, has actively created artwork while balancing their teaching duties.

The exhibition's title "And, Drawing" showcases the artists' dedication to painting as a hobby pursued in their free time, according to the school.

A wide range of work reflecting the artists' diverse backgrounds and interpretations of themes such as landscapes, the beauty of nature, moments of rest and emotions like hope and comfort will be showcased.

Twelve Sejong University professors, including Kim Dae-jong and Kang Won from the business administration department; Kim Soo-young from hotel & tourism management at Sejong Cyber University; Kim Soo-hyun from the real estate department and Kim Hee-yeon from the education college will display their works as artists.

In conjunction with this group show, there will also be a solo invitational exhibition by Kang Pil-yim, a professor in the China trade and commerce department. Titled "Sound of the Wind — Shaping Light," Kang's exhibit will center on capturing ephemeral moments in flowers and natural landscapes, expressing the interplay of sunlight and wind on canvas.

"I hope that through this art club, members feel the same kind of ease as when they sit back in a comfortable chair through art. I also hope that this experience serves as a form of healing, helping them find renewed inspiration for their respective fields,” Lee said.

The exhibition will be held at Gallery PaL in Seoul’s Jongno District from Feb. 18 to March 1.
