Red Velvet's Wendy seriously injured during rehearsal

K-pop girl group Red Velvet's Wendy was severely injured during rehearsal for the annual music festival at Gocheok Sky Dome on Dec. 25.

She fell off the stage and seriously injured her face, pelvis and right wrist, according to reports. She is now being treated in hospital.

The year-end event was sponsored by broadcaster SBS.

As a result, the group did not participate in the pre-recording and live broadcast of the festival.

Wendy also canceled a special “unit” performance with MAMAMOO's Solar, GFRIEND's Eunha and Oh My Girl's Seunghee.

SBS apologized to viewers and fans and wished Wendy a quick recovery. But fans were enraged, calling SBS irresponsible.

The group released the repackaged album “The ReVe Festival ― Finale,” on Dec. 23 and the title track “Psycho” topped major music charts.
