H.O.T warns against scalpers ahead of reunion gigs

H.O.T, the five-member boy band in the late 1990s to the early 2000s, Monday put out a warning against black market tickets for its upcoming reunion concerts.

The sale of tickets on Sept. 7 drew too many scalpers, so the organizing Salt Innovation decided to hold the ticket sale again, publicist PRM Idea Lab said.

The tickets sold out as soon as sales started at 8 p.m. Sept. 7. The servers crashed, overwhelmed by the huge demand.

Scalpers often use Macro bots to buy tickets in bulk. Tickets for some concerts cost 1 million won ($ 887.15) on the black market.

H.O.T will hold reunion concerts at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul Sports Complex on Oct. 13-14.

JYP Entertainment cancelled ticket sales for boy band DAY6 performances after it found scalpers had bought a large number of tickets. Singer Lee Seung-hwan also cancelled ticket sales for the same reason.
