World Top Magicians to Gather in Seoul

Who can resist a magician's magic, even though you know he or she is merely tricking your eyes?

Around this time of year, various shows, especially magic performances, are ready to boost the mood of Christmas and year-end celebrations.

Eleven top award-winning magicians and illusionists from around the world will gather in Seoul to take part in the World Magic Show 2007 slated for Dec. 27-31.

The participants will perform their own specialized magic tricks and a variety of entertaining performances.

World top-notch magicians and illusionists such as Mirko Callaci from Argentina, Minemura Kenji from Japan, Richard Forget from Canada, Ardan James and Max Maven from the United States, Timo Marc from Germany and Liu from China, will come to Korea.

Mirko has been around the world to perform for audiences. These experiences have helped him develop a very flexible repertoire for a variety of professional situations, from presenting live on the principle TV Station in France to family reunions or commercial parties launching a product.

Kenji won two awards at the world magic competitions held by the Fedeation Internationale des Societes Magiques (FISM).

Forget also received a thunderous applause from the audience at the Busan International Magic Festival.

Ardan, known for his humorous mime performance, grabbed the golden lion award at the Las Vegas World Magic Seminar.

Ardan is a working entertainer who performs his comic illusion shows for audiences the world over. Since 1989, Ardan has been a popular performer on television, and has been featured at Her Majesty's Theatre in London, the L.A. Comedy & Magic Club, and Hollywood's Magic Castle.

He has a major in Media Arts, with a minor in Education. Ardan lectures worldwide in the art of mime and magic, and has won over ten national awards to date.

Maven is also renowned as an American magician and mind reader. He often appears on television shows to perform interactive mind reading tricks for audiences. Maven won the World Magic Awards for the ``Best Mentalist'' and ``Interactive Magic.''

Also, Korean magicians such as Kim Woo-suk and Roh Byung-wook will participate in the show.

The show will be held on Dec. 27-31 at Universal Arts Center in Seoul. Tickets cost from 10,000 to 70,000 won. For more details, call (02) 6005-2117.
