Whether interested in buying art or just enjoying it, the 2007 Seoul Art Fair will be a place for art lovers to check out the works of hundreds of artists while strolling around a single venue. Organized by the Galleries Association of Korea, this proprietary project at its 25th year, will run from Thursday until next Monday at Seoul Arts Center, Hangaram Art Museum.

Amid increasing interest in the art business, the event sports 79 Korean galleries, providing visitors with a little bit of everything _ paintings, sculptures, prints, photography and media art. It will showcase around 2000 works of 420 Korean and 30 foreign artists.

As diverse as the art genres are the creators behind the art pieces, ranging from promising emerging artists to established veterans. Many works of widely sought Korean artists will be present, such as those by Kim Kang-yong, Kim Chang-yeol and Kim Heung-soo, just to name a few. Foreign artists whose works will be shown include Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Hiroto Kitagawa and Arman Fernandes.

The Seoul Art Fair which first began in 1979 was the first art fair in Korea, and since, it has played a crucial role in revitalizing the domestic art market, introducing the works of Korean artists into the world arena and bringing art closer to the public.

Tickets are 3,000 won for teenagers and 5,000 won for adults. For more information, visit www.seoulartfair.net.
