Hotels lure book lovers with fall packages

This autumn, hotels are offering packages for guests who enjoy reading. If you’re an avid reader looking for a fun mini-vacation in the city, take a look at their options.
Sheraton Grande Walkerhill
Until Nov. 13, Sheraton Grande Walkerhill is offering two “WALKERHILL Art + Stay” package which features a talk with Lee Hwa-kyeong, the author of “Stay Up all Night with Virginia Woolf,” and a give-away of a special edition of Virginia Woolf’s “A Room of One’s Own.”
The first package includes a one-night stay in a Douglas Room and a light breakfast at the hotel’s renovated lounge, which has turned an entire wall into a row of book shelves, from which guests can borrow from among 600 kinds of world literature.
The second package includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe Room and a piece of cake with two glasses of cold-brewed coffee.
The prices of the packages start at 195,000 won and 239,000 won, respectively, for two people, excluding tax and service charge.

Sheraton Grand Incheon
Sheraton Grand Incheon Hotel’s “Fall in Book” package, available during weekends until Nov. 27, includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe City View room, a Grand Budapest Hotel art book and a special afternoon tea with cakes, macarons and cookies at the hotel’s lobby.
The tea is offered at the hotel’s lobby bar, Bb, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The artbook illustrates the Wes Anderson film, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” about a hotel manager named Gustav and his beloved lobby boy Zero in a sophisticated storyline. Imperial Palace Seoul
Imperial Palace Seoul Hotel’s “Midnight in Europe” package gives guests a taste of Europe until Nov. 30. The package includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe or Business room, one bottle of Carmen Tolten Cabernet Sauvignon, chocolate and a copy of “Scratch Book Night View Vol.1 Europe,” published by Lago Design. The A3-sized book reveals a night view of the four cities of Paris, Berlin, Prague and Cologne as readers scratch the pages with a scratching tool.
Guests staying in rooms on the club floors, including the Club Deluxe rooms and Corner and Duplex suites, can enjoy breakfast for two at Club Imperial Lounge. Guests also have complimentary access to the hotel’s fitness club and indoor pool (for guests 18 years old and above, closed every first Tuesday of the month), while female guests can also use the valet service. Grand Hilton Seoul
Grand Hilton Seoul’s “Book & Beer” packages, available until Nov. 30, enable guests to get sentimental as the mid-fall season approaches by reading the poetry collection.
“Reading Poems in the Night,” a book by popular social media poet Ha Sang-wook, is available while drinking can of Asahi beer.
The concept of the package is based on the recent trend “bookmaek” (from a combination of the words “book” and the Korean word for beer), similar to that of the trend “chimaek” from a combination of the words chicken and the Korean word for beer.
The “Book & Beer I” package includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe room, breakfast for two in the buffet restaurant, two cans of Asahi beer, access to the gym and swimming pool, and a 50-percent discount on the sauna. The “Book & Beer II” package includes a one-night stay in an executive room, breakfast for two in the executive floor lounge, two cans of Asahi beer, and access to the gym, swimming pool and sauna.
