Seniors over 65 and youths 24 or younger can enjoy exhibitions or shows at a discount in Seoul, the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) announced Monday.

Through Seoul Sarang Ticket, SMG will subsidize seniors and youths, who have found it difficult to enjoy cultural events because of the high prices. Those who register on

can purchase tickets at cheaper prices.

Individual members can be subsidized up to 100,000 won ($90) a year and groups can get discounts once a year.

“Parents with children or caregivers with seniors can also get temporary discounts until the end of this year,” said a Seoul Sarang Ticket official.

The ticket office will also provide gifts to those who post reviews of exhibitions or shows on its website.

Over 200 events in Seoul, including plays, musicals and concerts, will offer Seoul Sarang Ticket.

“We hope more people can enjoy cultural events during the Chuseok holidays with Seoul Sarang Ticket,” an SMG official said.
