Barefoot Diva Lee tied knot in January

It has just been revealed that singer Lee Eun-mi, 45, got married to a Korean-American businessman in January.

“On Jan. 12, Lee married a worker in the trade business. The wedding was held in Santa Barbara, California, and only close friends and relatives attended the wedding. They recently bought a house in Gangnam,” her agency Neobiz said Wednesday.

Lee and her husband share a special relationship, as they have known each other for the past 20 years—ever since her debut.

“We have spent a long time as friends. We finally chose to get married because we were looking at the same future together. Through the hard times I had during my music career, he has supported me,” she said. “Because he isn’t a celebrity or a well-known person, I thought it was best for him if the public did not know about the marriage.”

Lee is currently one of the judges and mentors on MBC reality show. “The Birth of a Great Star.”

애인 있어요’의 가수 이은미(45•사진)씨가 재미동포 사업가와 올 초 결혼한 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다.

이씨의 소속사 네오비즈는 6일 “이은미씨가 1월 12일 미국 캘리포니아주 샌타바버라 시에서 지인들이 참석한 가운데 무역업을 하는 재미동포와 결혼식을 올렸다. 최근 강남에 신접살림을 차렸다”고 전했다. 이씨의 결혼 상대는 가수 데뷔 때부터 20여 년간 인연을 맺어온 지인으로 알려졌다.

이씨는 “오랜 세월 친구로 지내오다가 미래를 함께 할 수 있는 사람이라 여기게 돼 결혼을 결심했다. 쉽지 않은 내 음악 인생 길에 따뜻한 격려와 배려로 지지해 주고 묵묵히 지켜봐 준 소중한 사람”이라고 남편을 소개했다. 이어 “남편이 공인이 아닌 사업을 하는 사람이어서 배려해주고 싶은 마음에 결혼 소식을 바로 알려드리지 못했다”고 설명했다. 이씨는 현재 MBC 오디션 프로그램 ‘위대한 탄생’의 멘토로 출연 중이다.
